Our humble beginning started with one vision in mind: women's empowerment and self sufficiency. We want to help strengthen the social economy by giving job opportunities to underprivileged women in our society, and to help families escape the cycle of poverty.
Ruby Papad was set up in the town of Valod in Gujarat, a place known far and wide for its handmade papad. Since 2012 we have become one of the leading makers of handmade papad in India.
We make our papad with premium ingredients, filtered water and strict quality checks. We believe in quality over quantity, so our papad is fresh, hygienic, tasty and crunchy, at a fair price.
Our journey
2012
Ruby Papad starts in Valod, Gujarat with one goal: women's empowerment and self sufficiency. Daily production: 20 kg.
2016
Our work in the community is recognised with the Shakti award by a women's empowerment organisation.
Today
A family of more than 550 people making around 1,000 kg of papad a day, in handmade and machine made ranges, plus mathiya, suvadi and ghughra.
